With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, it signals a new phase in our Singapore's fight against the virus. Ministry of Education has implemented precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of school staffs and students.

For the well being of every child, teacher and school personnel, MOE schools will start to transit to blended learning model, starting with one day of Home-Based Learning (HBL) a week. Starting from April 2020, all schools except MOE Kindergartens will conduct one day of ' 'Home Based Learning' HBL a week :- - Primary Schools to have HBL on every Wednesday - Secondary Schools to have HBL on every Thursday - JC/CI (Centralized Institutes) to have HBL on every Friday

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO DAYS STUDENT NEED TO ATTEND SCHOOL ? Schools will stagger dismissal times during days where students are not on HBL to reduce the transient congestion of students.

HOW DO WE ACCESS HOME BASED LEARNING ?

All schools will provide instructions to students and parents on accessing Home Based Learning materials to continue with their learning. For students who do not have digital devices to access the learning portal, schools will assist them and make sure they are equipped with sufficient resources. During this period, Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS) will be accessible to students.

WHAT IF PARENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO GET HELP TO TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS?

Local schools will remain open for students whose parents are not able to arrange for alternative childcare arrangement during the days where HBL is taking place. For further assistance, parents can always refer to their respective schools for help. There will be a small handful of teachers around to supervise these students and support students at home who may have SLS and HBL-related questions.

CAN HOME BASED LEARNING REPLACE PHYSICAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES?

Home Based Learning (HBL) will never be able replace the personal touch that 1 to 1 guidance can deliver.
